Villa Esperanza Housing Development
Architecture / Design / Planning
Hopewell Mann is an existing 7-acre housing community developed by the Santa Fe Civic Housing Authority. The international design competition called for design ideas to transform the housing community into a sustainable urban village that incorporates a mix of uses (live/work, neighborhood retail and community center) and addresses social health, transit-aware neighborhood planning, green building, renewable energy and ideas on a larger scale that will serve to integrate the surrounding neighborhood. Our winning design focused on progressive streetscape and parking area improvements to create a pedestrian-first community with linkages to nearby and future transit stops, adjacent commercial and residential districts and a future trail system.
